The final form of the buildings on the Ferny Grove Transit Oriented Development site at the Ferny Grove Railway Station are now taking shape.
The internal fitouts of the retail buildings in Ferny Grove Central and apartments in The Fernery are now well underway.
Significant milestones achieved over the last three months include:
- Fitout of western retail building about to commence by tenants including Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s and the Goodlife Gymnasium
- Completion of all structural concrete pours
- Kedron Brook culvert works are almost complete, with Samford Road works progressing well
- All tower cranes have moved offsite as all buildings are now watertight, as the final structural concrete pours are complete and all materials that required craning are now in place
- Tenants are finalising their “open to trade” dates.
A key aspect of the project is the upgrade of the Kedron Brook creek area and pass-through road connecting Samford Road and Conavalla.
The works aim to improve the natural amenity of the waterway while ensuring adequate drainage and flood mitigation.
This aspect of the project was challenging for both local residents and the builder, Broad Construction, as the envionmental values of the creek and its riparian area must be maintained under the environmental conditions that apply to the project.
This part of the project is also almost complete as can be seen in the images below.

Roadworks being undertaken as part of the Kedron Brook upgrade are almost complete.
