Mark Furner is the current State Member for Ferny Grove and Chair of the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Commission Committee.

From 2017 to 2024, Mark served as Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, and Minister for Rural Communities, and from 2016 to 2017 as Minister for Local Government and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships.

Mark first won the seat of Ferny Grove at the 2015 Election with a swing of 10.3% which helped defeat the LNP Newman Government and deliver minority government to Labor and Annastacia Palaszczuk. He was returned in 2017, 2020 and 2024.

Since winning office in 2015 Mark has focused on delivering much-needed infrastructure and jobs for the Ferny Grove Electorate including: increased parking at the Ferny Grove Station; more than $120 million for our local schools; and more than $20 million for our local roads.

Upon first entering Queensland Parliament Mark served as chair of the Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee conducting inquiries into numerous matters including counter-terrorism, lockout laws, human rights and lemon laws.

Prior to being a member of Queensland Parliament, Mark served as a Queensland Senator in Canberra from 2007 to 2013 where he served on a number of standing committees and committees of inquiry and chaired the Defence Sub-committee.

Mark is married to Lorraine. Together they have three children and two grandchildren.
