The number of Queenslanders getting assaulted is the highest it has been in more than a decade, with those living in the state more likely to be attacked than people living in New South Wales or Victoria.
The latest crime victimisation data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows there have been 215,900 total physical and threatened assault victims in 2024-25.
This is the highest since the LNP was last in power under the Campbell Newman government with 239,300 in 2011-2012.
